Kehne ko Humsafar hain (3 seasons- ALT Balaji)

Kehne ko Humsafar hain: Finally the last 9 episodes of season three were released on 1st July 2020. I loved the series! I loved watching all three seasons. It's quite surprising since, I am not very fond of Ekta Kapoor shows. I saw that people have wrote all sort of things about the show calling it immoral, all about lust and that it is giving a wrong message to society.

Well, I somehow didn't find any wrong message. The story is quite realistic, modern and it does question certain aspects of love, relationship and marriage. It is not forcing its views since it does highlight the consequences too.

KKHH has lived up to it's title, till the season finale. As the name suggests, it's about having that 'so called partner in your journey' (kehne ko humsafar) with whom, you can really be yourself and be happy without giving an official name to the relationship. It shows both the perspectives: how certain decisions might impact others who are involved (especially family members) and also how it is okay to take some selfish decisions, if you know that is what you need to be happy.

Any relationship requires plenty of efforts to sustain, especially, when it goes against the usual societal norms. I feel the series has given away a really strong message. The lead cast were superb till the last episode.

Mona Singh as Ananya- the loving, sensitive but independent woman who is quite patient but, still very vocal about her needs is absolutely brilliant. Gurdeep Kohli as Poonam- the dedicated, caring ex-wife, who is the most balanced person in the family trying hard to keep her family together and sane has done a great job too.

But, my favourite was Ronit Roy as Rohit Mehra. He is little confused, a little clueless throughout the series but, madly in love with Ana. He is a super-caring dad, who continuously trying to prove his worth and be there for his loved ones.

The last season showed him in a completely different avtaar. The flamboyant, rugged, carefree, wasted, alcoholic, casanova sorts who is in-fact just being too tough on himself and going through his mid-life crisis. He is unable to handle the fact that he screwed up his life really bad, by making some wrong choices. I just loved him! 😍 He portrayed the character of Rohit, quite effortlessly. It was indeed a treat to watch him.

All the other supporting cast in the series were good too. Overall, really mature and brave storytelling. I was happy with the slightly unexpected ending as well. You will like it only if you watch it with an unbiased, unprejudiced mindset.

My rating would be 8/10
